Bricco Delle Viole is a hill which emerged about 11 million years ago, during the geological Tortonian Age.  is has resulted in a clay-calcium rich soil with a high con- centration of magnesium and manganese, an altitude of 400/480 meters, a microcli- mate which is neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter. Only the oldest vines are vini ed for this selection, while the younger ones are champing at the bit, waiting anxiously to grow up and become “of age”.
